That’s how the song goes, right?
The wild called again this weekend and we answered.
While trekking through the woods, my mind wandered, as it often does when my body is occupied.
I began thinking of the things that I’m thankful for — in that moment, in that day, in my life.
My health, my home, coffee (yes, coffee is actually that high on the list), changing seasons, good books, bad television series that inspire me to read good books instead, positive people, big trees, the sound of rain, every single dog on earth, etc.
And, last but not least, my better half, Kayla, who is my favorite human on this planet and who happens to be celebrating another trip around the sun this week.
Kayla, here’s to you. For continually encouraging me to do more and be more, for grabbing my hand and jumping before we’re ever really ready, for being constant, for laughing at my jokes, and for reminding me not to take life too seriously. Happy birthday to you, love! And many, many more.
P.S. What are you thankful for?
